WAMA brings together prominent marketing leaders for future focussed discussion

Some of WA’s prominent marketers got together last Wednesday to discuss all things WAMA, along with the opportunities and challenges facing the WA marketing industry.

At a lunch held at Henry’s Loft in the Subiaco Hotel, 30 industry leaders discussed how best to support and develop the marketing industry we have all grown to know and love so much.

David Ohana, Global Head of Marketing, Brand & Campaigns for Minderoo Foundation, says: “Another great WAMA event. Always useful to catch up with peers in the industry. Plus hard not to love and support Rene and team’s vision of WA becoming a centre of excellence in creativity, marketing and impact.”

WAMA Chairperson, Rene LeMerle, was delighted to host such an engaged group of marketing leaders.

LeMerle said: “Their passion for the local industry and keenness to help drive the WAMA vision of promoting and advocating marketing in WA is very affirming for the future of our industry.”

WAMA took the opportunity to reflect on their progress over the past 12 months, which saw 941 attendees across four different events, the establishment of the Campaign Brief Marketing Executive of the Year award, and finally the recruitment of dedicated DE&I officer, Tess Palymre, who is currently rolling out the DE&I roadmap. Looking ahead, WAMA will be recruiting for new committee members (keep an eye out!), releasing the results of a research project they’re in the thick of with ECU, and engaging even deeper with the marketing community through a range of learning initiatives.
