WAMA brings Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to the marketing forefront

WAMA opened up their breakfast series for the year with a timely discussion around diversity, equity and inclusion in the marketing industry.

 

The esteemed panel of Tess Palmyre, Choon Tan, Andrew Fairbairn and Kevin Wilson, led by Tui Raven, unpacked what it looked like when brands authentically own DE&I, while also bringing their own experiences to the table.

Tess Palmyre, Committee Member for WAMA, said: “This morning had a great energy, and it feels like people are ready to get onboard with DEI. A huge thank you to our bright and wonderful panel for facilitating our discussion in an insightful and accessible way.

“WAMA is keen to get our community started on a collective DEI journey, and we’re looking forward to learning and growing in this space as an industry. Check our DEI page for updates as we progress.

“While we plan next steps for our community, we encourage marketers to adopt a learning mindset and start having uncomfortable conversations from today.”

WAMA’s next event is in the diary for the 15th of June 2023, where the topic will be generative AI and the opportunities, impact and risks it has on the marketing industry, featuring Dr Kate Raynes-Goldie and Josh Edge.
