VML Perth launches Creative Internship Program for emerging talent

VML Perth has launched a new paid creative internship program, welcoming Curtin University design graduate Sophia Thomas (pictured top right) as the first participant in the agency’s eight-week paid placement.

Mentored by VML National Head of Design Melissa Radman, Thomas’ internship will give her hands-on experience alongside the agency’s design, strategic and creative teams.

This year’s intake focuses on supporting emerging female creatives, helping create stronger pathways into the industry at the beginning of their careers.

Radman said: “Perth has a long history of producing exceptional creative talent, and we’re proud to continue that tradition. As one of WA’s leading strategic brand design and creative agencies, we see it as our responsibility to invest in the next generation, giving graduates the opportunity to build their skills and experience.”

Thomas said: “Joining a team that genuinely invests in emerging female creatives has been incredibly encouraging. It’s given me the chance to learn, ask questions and see first-hand what a career in brand design can look like.”

VML Perth Managing Partner Barry Walker added: “Sophia is already making a fantastic impact, impressing the team with her design thinking and enthusiasm. Through this program, our goal is to foster a diverse and thriving creative community in Perth, we want local graduates to have a clear pathway to success.”
