Tina Altieri returns to Nine Perth
Nine Perth has announced that Tina Altieri, one of Western Australia’s most accomplished and respected news personalities, will return to 9News Perth as a special series reporter and front the return of Crime Stoppers WA, starting Monday, August 10.
An award-winning presenter with more than three decades in television news, Tina Altieri previously spent 11 years with 9News Perth from 1991 to 2002. She made Australian television history at 19, becoming one of the nation’s youngest television newsreaders.
In her new role, Altieri will deliver weekly special reports for 9News, focusing on the people, issues and stories shaping Western Australia. From stories that impact local communities to the ones that spark conversation and drive change, her reporting will shine a light on the things that matter most to West Australians.
She will also present the new Crime Stoppers WA segment every Wednesday night during the flagship 6pm bulletin. This weekly segment aims to highlight unresolved cases and active investigations where WA Police require community assistance. 9News is Perth’s only television news service providing a dedicated platform for this important initiative.
Altieri added: “In many ways, coming back to 9News Perth feels like coming home. WA is full of incredible people and stories waiting to be told. I’m looking forward to working alongside the dynamic team at 9News Perth and bringing our viewers the stories that inform, inspire and make a difference. Reconnecting with our community in this way is what I love doing.”
Michael Genovese, 9News Perth Director of News, said: “Tina is a household name in WA, and bringing her back to Nine is a huge win for our audience. She knows what matters to West Australians, making her uniquely placed to deliver these special reports.”
Altieri’s return reinforces 9News Perth’s commitment to Western Australia’s best local news coverage. She joins a strong newsroom of trusted presenters including Michael Thomson, Tracy Vo, Monika Kos, Natalia Cooper and Paddy Sweeney, alongside recent appointments Lee Steele and sporting legend and commentator Alicia Molik.
