The West Australian celebrates 190 years at WA Museum Boola Bardip
On Thursday evening, Seven West Media marked the 190th-anniversary celebration of The West Australian, as they hosted advertising agencies and clients at the WA Museum Boola Bardip.
Held in the level one space of the museum, guests were able to wander through and enjoy The West Australian’s new immersive exhibition, which highlights the paper’s historical journey and vibrant past over the past 190 years.
Guests were also treated to a vibrant and visual light projection display as imagery of The West was projected onto the Museum’s Old Gaol.
Brent Stewart, Chief Sales Officer, kicked off the formalities, thanking clients for playing an integral role in supporting The West Australian.
Stewart said: “We are incredibly proud to be celebrating 190 years of The West Australian, culminating in this event celebrating and sharing it with our partners and customers. The West continues to be an integral part of the WA community, reaching and connecting with 90% of Western Australia.”
“To those of you who have shared our passion and navigated the highs and lows over the decades – we thank you for being our trusted partners.”
Anthony De Ceglie also spoke of being proud to carry the baton as the Editor-In-Chief during such a major milestone as The West has informed, shocked, thrilled, entertained, inspired and supported WA for 190 years.
The evening was full of exciting surprises, including someone riding away with an e-scooter.
And it was just getting started as the celebrations kicked on to the PerthNow after-party held at The Court Hotel.
The West’s 190th-year exhibition will be on display at WA Museum Boola Bardip until the end of the year.
