The NOW Project returns as photographer Anna DeBenedictis captures 30 families in 30 days
Perth family photographer Anna DeBenedictis, founder of The Lifestyle Phodographer, is bringing back The NOW Project. The photographic exhibition encourages families to stop waiting for the ‘perfect time’ and document life as it is right now.
Having worked as a photographer in New York, the UK and Ireland, DeBenedictis brings an international perspective to a project that is deeply personal, local and community focused.
“The NOW Project is about reminding families that their everyday life, exactly as it is, is already part of their story,” says DeBenedictis. “We keep waiting for things to be calmer, neater or better organised, but life doesn’t wait. The ordinary moments are often the ones we’d give anything to relive.”
The project was created to shift the way families think about photography, moving it beyond milestones and special occasions. Through The NOW Project, DeBenedictis invites families to document the chapter they are living now, capturing the small, honest and everyday moments that quietly become part of a family’s history.
After last year’s emotional exhibition and mini film screening, The NOW Project returns for its second year with a new collection of family portraits. The exhibition will be held at Fridays Studio in West Perth, with proceeds once again supporting Dogs’ Refuge Home in Shenton Park.
The exhibition also encourages parents, especially mums, to step into the frame and be seen in the family memories they are so often busy capturing. Dogs are also welcomed as genuine members of the family, with proceeds helping support dogs still waiting to find families of their own.
A limited number of portrait sessions are still available. To enquire about participating, contact The Lifestyle Phodographer, visit www.thelifestylephodographer.com.au, or DM NOW on Instagram.
Exhibition tickets are available now via Humanitix.
