This week saw The Brand Agency host student design group, The Design Kids, for its #TDKtuesdays June event. Over 20 design students and graduates visited The Brand Agency to hear from the organisation’s design team, providing insights into their process and approach to creating and managing some of WA’s most iconic brands.
Now in over 70 cities globally, TDK works with emerging design students and graduates by offering them industry knowledge, insights and opportunities into the creative industry.
“Visiting The Brand Agency has always been a popular event on the TDK calendar,” says Shona Wong, The Design Kids’ Perth Host. “TDK is all about bridging the gap between students and industry. We are thrilled that the team at Brand can not only offer their expertise, but spend the time answering some of our questions to help prepare us for industry.”
The Brand Agency’s Head of Design, Dan Agostino, led the presentation and said: “Now more than ever it’s important for our industry to help out and give back to students. Whether it’s through The Design Kids, Youngbloods, or the PADC – every little bit helps. I remember how hard it was get your foot in the door, shopping your portfolio around town and hoping for that ‘big break’. I only wish there were industry events and opportunities like this around when I graduated all those years ago.”
It forms part of The Brand Agency’s overall commitment to supporting the student community and fostering emerging talent.
For any students or graduates who wish to get involved, the next #TDKtuesdays event is on 6th July. Visit thedesignkids.org for more details.
