State of Social annual conference retains certification for diversity and inclusion

State of Social is proud to announce that it has retained DICE (Diversity and Inclusion in Conference and Events) certification for its annual conference, making it the only conference in Australia to be certified under the charter for the second year running.

State of Social founder Meg Coffey says retaining DICE certification is extremely important to the conference.

Coffey said: “It is my goal to grow State of Social into APAC’s most prominent digital marketing conference and its most inclusive and diverse industry event. I am committed to creating an event that is representative of the broad spectrum of our industry, not only in topics but in people too.”

“We need to broaden the conversation around accessibility and inclusion at all levels and shine a light on how we can incorporate it into our daily business activities. The little things can go a long way to making people feel welcome. We have diversity in topics, presenters and attendees, and have now also ensured we have safe spaces available for all, including a suite for breastfeeding mothers, a quiet room for those who need to escape the noise and regroup, and other elements to be incorporated throughout the two days.”

The DICE charter provides certification and guidance to help conferences and events deliver a representative and diverse set of speakers, perspectives, and attendees. Certification is built on a scored set of self-regulatory guidelines across Gender, Race, Age, Class and Education, Disability and Neurodiversity, Hate Speech, Marketing, and General Accessibility and based on the 2010 UK Equality Act.
