Simon Lamplough departs Kitchen Warehouse after four years

Simon Lamplough, Chief Customer Officer at Kitchen Warehouse, has announced he is leaving the retailer after four years to pursue a new challenge.

Lamplough moved moved to Perth on the client-side after previously serving as Managing Director at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, with earlier senior roles at AMV BBDO and VCCP London.

During his time at Kitchen Warehouse, Lamplough led the retailer’s eCommerce P&L as well as its in-house marketing and content teams, helping drive year-on-year growth during a challenging retail environment.

Lamplough told Campaign Brief he was particularly proud of the creative work produced by the marketing and eCommerce teams, including ‘Mumnipulate the Algorithm’, ‘Bake Friday’, ‘Black Friday Outdoor’ and ‘Bake A Wish’. The campaigns have picked up recognition at the AWARD Awards, Mumbrella Awards, B&T Awards and AdNews Awards, with Kitchen Warehouse also named Campaign Brief WA’s Advertiser of the Year and PADC’s Client of the Year.

Another project highlighted by Lamplough was ‘Great Pan Exchange’, a recycling initiative designed to prevent old pots and pans from ending up in Australian landfills. All Kitchen Warehouse stores now serve as collection points, with the Federal Government’s Recycle Mate platform helping promote the initiative.

Lamplough also thanked Kitchen Warehouse CEO Peter Macaulay, his marketing and eCommerce teams, and agency partners Special Australia, Block and Berlin for their contribution during his tenure.

As for what comes next, Lamplough said he would be putting his Kitchen Warehouse staff discount to use “one last time” before taking on a new challenge, with further details to come.
