Sharper Pencil continues search for ‘Bankus Extinctus’ with the Finance Exchange Australia

The ‘Bankus Extinctus’ radio campaign launched by Finance Exchange Australia [FEA] throughout the Wheatbelt last year to coincide with the closing by the big banks of their regional and country branches, and to synchronise with the harvest season, has been refreshed and extended.

Created by Sharper Pencil, the current campaign re-imagines ‘David Attenborough’ continuing to wander through the region trying to find the elusive ‘Bankus Extinctus’ with a fresh new combination of 30 and 45 second radio commercials.

FEA provides the farming community with access to funds to buy new farming equipment, increase their acreage and/or build new infrastructure – once the sole province of their local friendly bank manager.

This time, the campaign is designed to synchronise with the seeding season which due to the delay of the rains, began late this year.

Producer, Julian Douglas-Smith, said: “We are indeed to very fortunate to have access to the voiceover specialist/actor, Allan Symons who, after studying his inflections, accent, pronunciation, language use, breath pauses and characterisation, has done a superb job emulating the delivery of Attenborough.”
