Seven West Media announces exclusive partnership with Chevron City to Surf for Activ

Seven West Media (SWM) has announced a new partnership with Activ Foundation for their premier event, the Chevron City to Surf for Activ, on the event’s 50th anniversary. This partnership marks the first time SWM will join forces with the iconic community event, reinforcing their commitment to supporting and encouraging community spirit.

To commemorate the event’s milestone anniversary, the Chevron City to Surf for Activ is embracing a “Retro Run” theme, paying homage to the event’s launch decade – the 1970s.

SWM will be the media partner for the Chevron City to Surf for Activ, alongside Nova 93.7, with both working closely to leverage the impact for people living with disability. The strength of 7NEWS, Channel 7, and The West Australian will increase the event’s reach and impact across Western Australia. Ryan Daniels, 7NEWS Sports Presenter, will serve as a brand ambassador alongside renowned athlete and Sunrise host Matt Shirvington, rallying participants and spectators alike to join in the celebration.

“We are honoured to be part of the Chevron City to Surf for Activ’s 50th anniversary celebration,” says Ray Kuka, Channel Seven News Director. “SWM is committed to showcasing the stories and experiences that make our community unique, and this partnership aligns perfectly with our values.”

Michael Van Oudtshoorn, Executive Manager of Activ, said: “As we celebrate 50 years of the Chevron City to Surf for Activ, we are delighted to have SWM on board to help us raise awareness and support for individuals living with disability,” he said. “Keep the tradition or start a new one – get your family, friends, colleagues, or your neighbour’s cousin’s mates together to celebrate while making a difference!”

The Chevron City to Surf for Activ, with the support of SWM, invites participants to experience Perth uniquely — from the city to the surf. Walking, running, or rolling, participants can join individually or as part of a team.

SWM is proud to embark on this meaningful partnership with the Chevron City to Surf for Activ, and is committed to championing inclusivity, wellness, community spirit and amplifying the voices and experiences of individuals across Western Australia.
