Christmas spots from elsewhere: The inventor of the discount store is getting ready to enchant the festive season with the launch of its new advertising campaign, “Christmas before Christmas,” which will first air on Sunday the 3rd of December. This year, ALDI has decided to stay true to its latest brand territory, which uses fairytales to celebrate the magic of the festive season in the company of a slightly early Father Christmas.
A universal symbol of generosity and joy, Father Christmas is the star of this new story. In this 80-second spot, he decides to deliver children’s presents a little early, because he too wants to make the most of New Year’s Eve and cook for his loved ones! We see Santa taking his time and choosing quality products from ALDI, which he then cooks with care for Christmas Eve.
This new 360° campaign, devised by TBWAParis, enables ALDI to play on the codes of the end-of-year festivities and to highlight the fact that the brand’s products are essential even for the festive season, to such an extent that even Father Christmas wants to enjoy them!
“Our saga continues, and this festive season we wanted to revisit the tale of Father Christmas. We discover him in his own world, but this time he also wants to enjoy Christmas Eve, having his loved ones over for dinner with the quality products he finds in our shops. This new story puts ALDI in consumers’ minds when it comes to Christmas shopping. We wanted to illustrate that they can make a delicious festive meal while preserving their budget during this period of high inflation / budgetary constraints for their festive tables while preserving their budget!” says Anne-Marie Gaultier, Director of Communication & Marketing at ALDI France.
The campaign will start at 8pm on all major national channels and will be rolled out across all points of contact: television, video online, digital, press and, for the first time, cinema. MOGUL (TBWA Group) is supporting the social media roll-out with content embodied by Father Christmas.
