The annual SBS Eurovision Karaoke Competition returned last Thursday at The Leederville Hotel with six media agencies fighting to take home $2500 worth of prizes. Initiative, Trilogy, Carat, MIQ, The Brand Agency and OMD brought high energy, great costumes and show stopping voices but ultimately Andrew Allingham from The Brand Agency stole the show with his rendition of The Climb by Miley Cyrus.
Last years’ winners, Tia Sullivan and Molly Trumble from Initiative, took home 2nd prize. Cindy Henderson and Astrida Rumbens from Carat rocked their best Abba outfits and finished in 3rd. The encouragement award this year went to Trilogy with Carma, Connie and Bec for their spectacular rendition of Valerie.
Chris Eyres, WA State Manager of SBS, said: “What a night! I feel this year the SBS Eurovision Karaoke competition really came into its own with some incredible performances by all of the singers. It takes a huge amount of guts to belt out a Karaoke song in front of the industry but these performers gave it all. Also a huge thanks to the rock star Judges: Anna – Ooh, Nita -Trilogy, Simone:-RAC, Seb – Media Tonic, Antonell -Nova Entertainment and Marianne from Stela Media, a very stressful job considering the talent this year!”
