Rhythm director Frank Carroll takes on Unwanted Guests in new spot for Envirapest

After a Covid-caused delay, Rhythm has launched a new commercial for pest control operator Envirapest.

Right before COVID broke in Perth, WA’s premier pest control operator, Envirapest approached Rhythm for a new online commercial. It was a few months before Rhythm could craft and execute the ad which was the brainchild of up-and-coming director Frank Carroll.

Vermin, rodents, pests. Call ‘em what you like, they’re everywhere, and sometimes they find their way into your home – and they don’t want to leave.

That’s the unwelcome scenario faced by many of us, including this quintessential family set in a typical suburban home. ‘Unwanted Guests’ aims to build brand awareness by leaving the viewer with a smile on their faces and more importantly, the name Envirapest stuck in their minds.

“I relished the opportunity to create something that is fun and slightly absurd, said Carroll. “This great client presented us with an open brief that allowed us to devise an idea that captured their sense of humour by literally magnifying the issues faced by their customers.”

Executive producer, Gemma Rule said the opportunity is exactly what they had been looking for to showcase Carroll’s comedy directing chops.

“Due to COVID we had to sit on this idea for a few months so it is exciting to see it come to market.”

The spot has been well received by the client and their customers alike, with its recent launch online.

Says Rhiannon Brown, owner of Envirapest “Thank you to Frank and the team at Rhythm Content! We absolutely love our new commercial. The attention to detail has been second to none. The whole process has been very smooth right through from the storyboarding, production & finished product. Frank was very approachable and worked with us to create an advert that far exceeded our expectations.”
