RADIO SURVEY 4/2019 RELEASED: NOVA BACK TO #1

Nova 93.7 has gone back to the #1 position in the fourth CRA Metro Radio Survey for 2019, released today.

 

Nova took top spot with a P10+ Share of 14.1%, ahead of mix 94.5 on 12.1%. The two stations are in a hot contest for the #1 spot and have swapped back and forth for most of the past year.

hit92.9 held the #3 spot (commercial station) with 9.1% share. 96FM was #4 on 7.7%, ahead of 6PR by the barest of margins on 7.6% and 6iX on 5.2%.

96FM Managing Director Gary Roberts has made some key personnel changes, including the return of Fred Botica and Lisa Shaw to Breakfast radio, so the second half of the year will be keenly watched.

Like the stations overall, Nova and mix94.5 also swapped the #1 Breakfast position. Nova 93.7 took top spot in Breakfast, with Nathan, Nat & Shaun recording a rise of +1.3% to 14.2%, while mix94.5’s Clairsy, Matt & Kymba slipped -1.6% to 11.3%.

6PR’s Basil Zempilas and Steve Mills slipped marginally but were still a clear #3 on 9.5%, followed hit92.9’s Heidi Xavier & Ryan on 7.9%.

In their last full survey, 96FM’s Paul & Lise were steady on 7.1%.

6IX’s Ian Blackley was up +0.7% to 4.5% share.

Nathan, Nat & Shaun also recorded the biggest Cumulative Audience (348,000) followed by Clairsy, Matt & Kymba (279,000) and Heidi, Xavier & Ryan (246,000).

Nova recorded the biggest Cumulative Audience of more than 607,000 listeners P10+. mix94.5 had 514,000 and hit92.9 468,000 listeners.

Nova also recorded the highest Average Audience (P10+) of 31,000, ahead of mix 94.5 on 26,000 and hit92.9 on 20,000.

Amongst commercial DAB+ digital stations, Nova Entertainment’s SmoothFM led the way with a Cumulative Audience of 34,000, followed by Southern Cross Austereo’s Old Skool Hits with 27,000.
