&Partners launches new, new, new, new creative work for The City of Fremantle
Over the past few years, The City of Fremantle has undergone a dramatic transformation, welcoming dozens of new bars, restaurants, independent retailers, entertainment and arts venues.
Their latest campaign, developed by &Partners and Match & Wood, is a celebration of the business community that keeps Fremantle fresh and ever-evolving.
The 30-second commercial features dozens of genuine locals singing a song composed and arranged by musical collaborators, Panda Candy.
“Singing in front of a camera is terrifying prospect if you’re not a pro, but the folks of Freo just threw themselves in, in an utterly whole-hearted Fremantlian way. They nailed it – even when they didn’t!” Said Ian Berney of Panda Candy.
As always, the &Partners team tapped into the huge local talent pool, sourcing crew, onscreen talent, post-production and catering in Fremantle.
Matt Hammond, Director City Business at City of Fremantle, said: “Fremantle has never seen such an explosion of new venues and attractions. This campaign manages to capture the newness in a joyful, irreverent way, that yet again proves the passion and generosity of our business community. They may be saying ‘new’ but they are screaming ‘Welcome, come to Freo and visit us’.”
The campaign featuring online video, digital banners, social media and outdoor was planned by Match & Wood, created by &Partners and produced by Dave Le May.

Love, love, love! Captures the fun, vibrancy, diversity & inclusive community of Freo. ❤️
It’s daggy but cool daggy. I do like how Freo is not scared of being a bit silly.
When you look at how strong authentic clear communication for Freo can be you get a good idea of the potential for the City of Perth to say something that delivers.
…they got some new things in Fremantle then.
Refreshing, fun and authentic.
Great to see the local businesses embracing the opportunity to participate in the campaign.
Love the showcasing of the small businesses in a clever and entertaining way. Great job!
