The Australasian Writers and Art Directors (AWARD) has today announced that David Kolbusz, globally acclaimed creative and founder of Orchard Creative, will head up this year’s AWARD Awards as jury president.
One of the ad industry’s most esteemed creative leaders, Kolbusz’ celebrated advertising has come in all shapes and sizes over the years. He is recognised for bringing creative excellence to international agencies including Mother, Droga5, TBWAChiat Day, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, BBH and Wieden + Kennedy, and has worked on some of the biggest brands in the world including Coca Cola, Amazon, Facebook, Axe, and The Gap.
He established his New York agency Orchard Creative in 2022 after departing Droga5 London, where he continues to produce entertaining off-kilter work for categories across automotive, beer, banking, fashion, food, tech and more.
Says Kolbusz: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be coming on board as the jury president for this year’s AWARD Awards and can’t wait to attend This Way Up: Australia’s Advertising Festival of Creativity in August.
“To be given the opportunity to delve into some of the best creative work coming out of the APAC region is a real honour. I’m also looking forward to picking up some rare, sweet merch from one of Australia’s greatest-ever bands, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.”
Says Cam Blackley, chair of AWARD: “AWARD has once again secured a superstar jury president to preside over the AWARD Awards this year. It’s a testament to how highly regarded the work from this corner of the world is and we look forward to welcoming David as our guest during This Way Up in August.”
Further details and information on AWARD’s 2023 This Way Up creative festival will be announced in coming weeks.
