Nova 93.7 tops Perth Radio Survey 3

Perth’s latest Radio Survey 3 sees Nova 93.7 dominating and retaining it’s #1 position in Perth. Stela Media’s Marianne Stelmach, who has over two decades of radio industry experience, takes a closer look at the results of the latest ratings period.

#1 Overall – Nova
#1 Breakfast – Nova’s Nathan, Nat & Shaun
#1 Drive – Nova

Nova has kept it’s #1 position overall and in Breakfast and Drive. Mix 94.5 have gone back to #2 overall with 96FM dropping to #3. While the top 3 stations keep battling it out, there is a big gap to the next 3 stations.

Nova continue to be #1 in the 10 to 17, 18 to 24 and 25 to 39 year olds. Also a close second to Mix 94.5 in the 40 to 54 year olds and #1 for Weekends and Females 10+.

Mix 94.5 had a great survey rising back to #2 position and being #1 with the 40 to 54 year olds, Afternoons and Males 10+.

96FM had the biggest decrease overall and slipped back to #3 after starting the year off at #1. They are the clear #1 station for 55 to 64 year olds. The station had the biggest drops across the week day but are still #1 in Mornings. Their performance 40+ saw a new record number of weekly listeners – 459,000.

92.9 Triple M increased slightly overall and have moved up to #4 position. As previously mentioned, there is a big gap between the top 3 stations and the bottom 3. 92.9 Triple M’s Breakfast had a much needed increase and are starting to close in on 6PR’s Breakfast Show. A good increase also on weekends going back to 4th position. It looks like they’ve taken on some of 6PR’s AFL audience.

6PR had a slight overall decrease moving to #5 position. Breakfast has retained it’s #4 position after a small decrease but Mornings & Evenings had good increases. 6PR is #2 in the 55 to 64 and 65+ demographics.

6IX interestingly only had increases in the young demos with 10 to 17 and 18 to 24 year olds. They have just pipped 6PR on weekends to take the #5 position and are #3 in the 55 to 64 and 65+ demographics.
