Nine Perth named official Media Partner for Kings Park’s new ‘Moortabiny’ drone spectacle
Nine Perth has locked in a major cultural partnership, signing on as the official Media Partner for Moortabiny (Becoming Family) – an all-new drone, light, and sound show launching at Kings Park and Botanic Garden.
Created exclusively for the Western Australian Botanic Garden, the immersive event combines light, soundscapes, storytelling trees, and a grand finale drone show. Written by award-winning author Kim Scott, the narrative explores themes of culture, conservation, and science, giving voice to Western Australia’s unique flora and fauna and bringing the local community closer to the natural environment.
The partnership reinforces Nine Perth’s ongoing commitment to supporting major local cultural moments and connecting Western Australia.
Peter Brennan, Nine Perth’s Head of Marketing, Communications & TV Programming, said: “Nine Perth has a long history of bringing Western Australians together, and Moortabiny is set to be a truly magical experience for the entire community. We’re thrilled to partner with The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority to help share this unique story of culture and conservation with WA.”
Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority (BGPA) Executive Director Morgan Marsh welcomed Nine’s involvement, emphasising the media network’s deep local roots. “Channel 9 has been bringing the Perth community together for over sixty years. We are delighted to welcome them to join the celebration of Moortabiny as we bring this unique event to Kings Park and Botanic Garden,” Marsh said.
Presented for three nights only from October 2 to 4 at the Pioneer Women’s Memorial, Moortabiny invites visitors to enjoy a picnic under the stars and experience the botanic garden in an entirely new way. Tickets are available now via Ticketmaster.
