NINE PERTH GROWS COMMERCIAL SHARE IN 2019

With the conclusion of the official survey ratings period last weekend, Nine is celebrating its best ratings share performance of all time.

In Perth, the Nine Network was the only commercial free-to-air network to grow commercial share locally across Total People and ALL key demos across the 40-week ratings survey period. Furthermore, Nine Perth was the only commercial free-to-air channel to grow commercial share across Total People and ALL key demos in 2019.

Managing Director of Nine Perth, Clive Bingwa, said: “I am extremely proud of our dedicated and hard-working team who have delivered results to our clients, partners and our audience in 2019. As the only local commercial free-to-air network and channel to grow commercial share across all the key demos is a noteworthy achievement, and I’m looking forward to an even stronger 2020 with our consistent line-up of top-rating programs.”

Bingwa said key to the network’s success is a year-round schedule of premium content that has once again delivered proven consistency of audience across all advertiser-preferred demographics. It is this reliable slate of family-friendly programming that sees Nine crowned Australia’s No. 1 network for 2019 with the demographics most highly sought after. Nine’s primary channel also ranks as Australia’s most watched channel in 2019 with all key demographics.

Excluding sport, in 2019 Nine Perth secured the no. 1 overall program for People 25-54 and Grocery Shoppers + Child with Lego Masters, and Married At First Sight was the No. 1 overall program with People 16-39.

Nine can also lay claim to Australia’s highest rating program of the year, with the first State of Origin match between NSW and QLD securing a national linear broadcast average audience of 3.230 million viewers (Metro: 2.192 million / Regional: 1.038 million).

Across the 40-week ratings survey period, Nine News Perth has delivered audience growth across Total People (+2.21%) and GS + Child (+3.58%), with Nine News 6.30 Perth delivering strong local audience growth across Total People (+8.58%), People 25-54 (+0.95%) and GS + Child (+16.59%).

Nine Perth Director of News, Michael Best, said: “I’d like to thank our dedicated viewers for tuning in. The focus of our hard-working local team at Nine News Perth is providing the most trusted and most comprehensive news service we can, every day of the year.  We want our viewers to see the full story from morning to night.”
