MIX 94.5 retains their #1 spot in Radio Survey 2 followed by Nova #2 and 96FM #3

Perth Radio Survey 2, 2024, released this morning, sees MIX 94.5 hold their #1 spot Overall with Nova closing the gap in #2 position. OMD WA’s Joy Powell (pictured below) takes a closer look at the results of the latest ratings period of 2024.

NOVA retains #1 in Breakfast and gained share. Mix 94.5 continues to retain #2. All commercial stations excluding Mix had share increases within this session.

#1 Overall – MIX 94.5
#1 Breakfast – Nova’s Nathan, Nat & Shaun
#1 Drive – MIX 94.5 Carrie & Tommy (3pm-6pm)/Happy Hour with Pete & Kymba (6pm-7pm)

Every station can take highlights for themselves, as is evident on Survey days with the Media Releases sent out by the stations or the information shared on some fun visits that a lot of us are fortunate to experience on survey day.

Powell’s take on this survey, by way of a very brief snapshot summary follows:

Mix 94.5 is currently # 1 station in Perth for Total People and P40-54 and are # 2 for People 10-17 & People 55-64. Session rankings # 1 Morning, Afternoon & Drive and also for Weekends. Strong positions despite only increasing in 1 demographic for this survey P55-64 (Up 4.1%) and they did have session increases in Afternoons & Drive and also Weekend listening.

Nova is the # 2 station for Total People, but notably, they are the # 1 station in Breakfast & across P10-17, 18-24 and # 2 for P25-39 & P40-54 along with Drive, Evenings & Weekends . Their Cume figure continues to impress and they are # 1 here too.

The largest increase P10+ was Triple M (Up 0.8%) with the biggest decrease being a non-commercial JJJ (Down 1.4%).

96FM is a strong # 3 for P10+, P10-17, P18-24 & P40-54. They are #1 P55-64 and # 2 P65+. Huge increases P10-17 & P18-24 (Up 4.3% in both demo’s). 96FM is also # 2 Morning & Afternoon and # 3 Drive & Weekends.

92.9 Triple M had increases in all demo’s except for P40-54 and all sessions. A highlight I’m sure would be P25-39 (Up 5.9%). # 4 position Breakfast, Morning, Afternoon, Drive & Weekends.

6PR huge increase P18-24 (Up 4.4%). Station is # 3 P55-64 & P65+. Equal # 4 in Breakfast & Evenings.

6IX would be happy with their results, increasing P40-54 & P65+ along with Breakfast & Morning sessions.

MIX 94.5 retains their #1 spot in Radio Survey 2 followed by Nova #2 and 96FM #3

Cume Audience: P10+
I personally love it when radio listening in general increases as I’m sure all of the commercial stations do too, especially since they all had growth in this area. Nova still has the highest Cume, but it was Mix at # 2 who managed to add the largest amount of listeners +41,000.

Nova – 671,000 (UP 30,000)
Mix 94.5 – 617,000 (UP 41,000)
