Media owners to take on Agencies at the UnLtd: Big Clash Perth cricket match – March 23rd

The cricket champions of the industry will once again be decided at the UnLtd: Big Clash cricket match on 23 March at Leederville Oval. The event, organised by industry social purpose organisation, UnLtd, will see Media Owners team up with their usual competitors to take on the Agency teams on the cricket pitch.

The event is kindly sponsored by JCDecaux, MiQ and Seven West Media and is raising funds for UnLtd’s work supporting charities helping children at risk.

The Team Captains have been announced today with Tia Sullivan from Initiative leading the Women’s Agency Team and Alycia Diggle from JCDecaux leading the Women’s Media Owners. In the Men’s Teams, Trent McKeown has been named the Captain for Men’s Media Owner Team and Ben McAuliffe as the Captain for Men’s Agency Team.

Men’s Media Owner Team Captain Trent McKeown is feeling hopeful: “Honoured to be captaining again and looking forward to going back-to-back. Last year it was an inspirational team performance that ripped victory from the jaws of defeat chasing down a mammoth 280 odd to win on the last ball. I can’t wait to hear how many sleepless nights the opposition have had over the past year re-living that last ball overthrow as it ran to the boundary for 4. And after they were found to have an additional fielder on the ground, I am also keen to see the ‘hopeful’ progression of the umpires’ ability to count past 11 this year, but I won’t hold my breath.”

With only a week to go, the traditional cricket sledging is in full swing with Team Captain Alycia Diggle saying: ” I wonder if the Agency Team will bowl as short as their lead times”.

Tia Sullivan and Ben McAuliffe joined in on the sledging saying: “Let’s see if the Media Team will underdeliver as per usual.”

UnLtd Big Clash was launched in Sydney in 2014 and has so far raised over $1 million dollars across Australia and New Zealand for UnLtd’s work supporting charities helping young people at risk.

UnLtd CEO, Chris Freel, said: “We can’t wait to bring the Perth advertising industry together again to bat and bowl for good. The standard of cricket is always high in WA and we can’t wait to see who will get to lift the trophy this year. It will be a great day of networking, music, food, drinks & special surprises from our sponsors and we invite everyone across the Perth advertising industry to join us on the day.”

The event will take place at Leederville Oval on Thursday 23 March from 12pm onwards.
