Media Owners and Agencies to go head-to-head at UnLtd’s Big Clash cricket event

Big Clash, the most competitive game of advertising industry cricket in Australia, is launching in Perth tomorrow.

The event is organised by industry social purpose organisation UnLtd, with all proceeds going to help children and young people at risk. The event will see both Men’s and Women’s teams of Media Owners go head-to-head with Agencies in a fiercely competitive game of 20/20 style cricket at Leederville Oval.

Chris Freel, CEO of UnLtd said: “We can’t wait to bring Big Clash to Perth tomorrow and to find out who the local industry champions are! Through the events in Sydney and Melbourne, Big Clash has already raised over $500,000 for children at risk and we’re looking forward to bringing the Perth market together to bat and bowl for good. It’s a great afternoon out networking across the industry whilst watching some seriously competitive cricket over some drinks and food – and it’s all for a good cause. We hope to see all of the industry there!”

The event is free to attend for spectators. Women’s final will commence at 12:30pm and Men’s final at 2:30pm at Leederville Oval.

With only a day to go to the event, the team members are trying to intimidate their opposition with some light-hearted cricket sledging.

Marianne Stelmach from the Women’s Media Owners team commented: “Pretty sure media agencies are only invited so we have someone to pull out the tarps if it rains!”.

Team member Marissa McNish added: “’No agencies will win on this pitch.”

Meanwhile Adam Marshall, representing Team Agencies commented: “I am assuming bodyline is a mandatory for the agency bowlers.”

The event is sponsored by Nine Radio, JCDecaux and NewsCorp with agency participants from 303 MullenLowe, Carat, Initiative, Isobar, Marketforce, Meerkats, Workhouse Advertising as well as Media Tonic and Nova. Media Owner participants from JCDecaux, Network 10, NewsCorp, Nine Network, Nine Radio, oOh! Media, Southern Cross Austereo and Seven West Media.
