Match & Wood’s Jodie Allen to compete in the national finals of TikTok Young Lions competition

Jodie Allen from Match & Wood Perth has progressed to the national finals of the TikTok Young Lions competition – the only WA finalist across all categories.

TikTok Young Lions is an annual competition which spans the areas of media, digital, film, marketing and design, and is open to communications professionals under the age of 31. The first round of competition took place between December–March and required teams of two to demonstrate their strategic thinking and innovative approaches to solving an important marketing challenge.

After beating out hundreds of entrants, Match & Wood’s Allen and Ryan Hancock (VIC) have been named finalists in the Media category. The cross-country pair will go on to compete against four other teams at the national finals in Sydney from 3-5 May. This will consist of a competitive 24-hour live brief with the winners going on to represent Australia at the Young Lions Global competition and travel to France for the Cannes Advertising Festival.

Sam Enshaw, Match & Wood’s National Strategy Director, said: “We couldn’t be prouder to have such incredible talent recognised on one of Australia’s most prestigious stages. At Match & Wood we have been long term supporters of the Young Lions competition as an opportunity for our team to flex their strategic muscle on a blue-sky brief. To see Ryan and Jodie work their way to the finals this year is so exciting and they are deserving of every opportunity and accolade.”

Allen said: “Ryan and I are over the moon to see we have made it to the finals and look forward to working on the next phase of the competition together. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve!” With Hancock adding, “Considering the quality of entries we saw this year we’re very humbled to be finalists. I’m looking forward to partnering with Jodie again in the finals to see what amazing new work we can produce together.”
