Marketforce hosts WA-raised Uniqlo global creative director Ken Leung

WA-raised Ken Leung, now the global creative director of Japanese fashion brand, Uniqlo – has shared his journey with local creative leaders.

 

Marketforce MD, Dixie Marshall, quizzed Leung on how he took his early flair at Applecross High School to London and most recently, New York.

Leung is currently the Creative Director at UNIQLO, and has more than 20 years’ experience creating the visual language of global brands, including DKNY, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Monocle magazine.

With a career spanning art direction, digital experience, editorial, retail and graphic design, he has a true love of inspiring and empowering multi-disciplinary creative teams to produce unique, innovative and engaging brand experiences.

He’s home for one more week visiting family and ensuring his two kids know how to surf.

He inspired the audience with his tips on cold calling, the secrets of high-end fashion parties, and insights into the balance between creative risks and revenue.

Leung told of his love of Perth, and dreams of continuing his career in his hometown.
