Mark Braddock curates visual communications showcase for WA Design Now exhibition

As part of Perth Design Week, Mark Braddock, Co-Founder & Creative Strategy Director at Block, has curated the Visual Communications section of the WA Design Now exhibition, currently on display at WA Museum Boola Bardip’s Old Gaol Gallery.

Braddock’s selection brings together ten projects from ten studios, offering a snapshot of the evolving landscape of Western Australian visual communication. The curated works reflect the diversity of the discipline, spanning branding, typography, publishing, and motion, and sit alongside broader design categories such as architecture, interiors, and objects.

“WA’s visual communication sector’s influence extends well beyond the realm of commercial design – it plays a vital role in shaping the culture and identity of the state,” says Braddock. “This collection is a chance to highlight the depth of thinking and creative energy that is coming out of WA.”

The featured studios include:
Block, Gesture Systems, Mess Books, Nani Creative, Sam Price, StudioThinkTank, Swimtype, The Brand Agency (with Janice Law), TwofromTwo, and Zendoke.

Running until April 10, WA Design Now is a rare opportunity to see how Western Australian designers are pushing the boundaries of communication and storytelling through design.
