Julian Pace, Lucy Kough and Joshua White are the latest to join SOS23’s workshop line-up

Whether you’re struggling to find more customers, the right words or happiness, State of Social ’23 has got you covered with the three latest additions to our workshop line-up.

Happiness Co’s Julian Pace: Self-Care, Burnout and the Busy Mind
Discover how to create a work culture with fulfilment and happiness at its core from Australian of the Year finalist recipient Pace (pictured left), Australia’s leading voice in happiness, emotional wellbeing, and lived-experience mental health.

Pace founded Happiness Co – a social enterprise providing award-winning mental health and wellbeing programs – in 2017 after experiencing mental health struggles when he lost his father to suicide. Since then, he has used his powerful story to help schools, community organisations and some of the biggest brands in Australia develop strategies to create and sustain happiness.

Tamers, Teachers and Traffic Police: How to Write Effective Copy across Every Stage of the Customer Journey, with Lucy Kough
Kough (pictured middle) has spent 20 years helping some of Australia’s biggest brands use creativity to solve problems great and small – work that’s been recognised at Cannes, Caples, ADMA and Effies. She has helped reverse the road toll on regional NSW roads, turned casual newspaper readers into lifetime subscribers and is currently empowering Aussies to create better financial futures with their super.

Kough says that, despite its dynamic reputation, digital media creates some of the most intimate connections customers experience with a brand. But what should we say? And how should we say it? In every interaction the language we use can pull customers out of the wild, educate with interest or point them in the right direction to act. Knowing the difference makes all the difference to their relationship with your brand.

Kough’s workshop offers a framework to write powerful and purposeful copy for any marketing task. Bring your imagination, some paper and be prepared to wear different hats.

Neon Treehouse’s Joshua White: Attention Please! What it takes to get digital ads right in 2023
White (pictured right) built his award-winning digital marketing agency from the ground up, working with startups, scaleups, innovative thinkers and bold brands all over Australia to take their businesses to the next level. And he’s behind some of the most exciting eCommerce, crowdfunding and B2B startup stories.

In his workshop, you’ll explore the world of digital marketing growth: How do you ensure your digital campaigns accelerate customer acquisition and sales? Where do AI and the BRIGHT Method fit in? What’s the best way to think about audience structure for digital campaigns? White has the answers.

Pace, Kough and White join oOh!media’s Josh Gurgiel, Brandable’s Tess Palmyre, Social Sandwich’s Edwin Smith, Sked Social’s Kyra Goodman, Bonfire’s Johari Lanng and Creative Fix’s Aaron Matthews on Day Two’s program of creative, technical and strategic workshops. You’ve got 15 to choose from!
