Hayley Boneham launches strategic marketing consultancy Longrun
WA marketing leader Hayley Boneham has launched Longrun Consulting, a new strategic marketing consultancy specialising in the sport, outdoor and lifestyle sectors. Based in Perth, Longrun will work with organisations nationally.
Founded by Boneham (pictured) following more than 16 years working across agency and client-side marketing roles, Longrun is built on the belief that the problem should determine the solution, not the other way around.
Longrun works with organisations to understand what they are trying to achieve, what is standing in the way and what role marketing needs to play. From there, it brings together the right expertise to deliver what the organisation actually needs.
“Too often we jump to the answer before we’ve properly understood the problem. Marketing has a different job to do in every organisation, and getting clear on that has to come before deciding what the solution looks like,” said Boneham.
For many organisations, that need doesn’t necessarily warrant a full-time CMO or senior marketing function, while for others, the budget simply isn’t there. Longrun provides access to senior marketing capability without requiring either.
The consultancy operates through a curated network of specialists, bringing together the expertise required for each engagement rather than applying a fixed team or service model. This allows Longrun to work flexibly with organisations through short-term strategic projects, fractional engagements or ongoing support.
Longrun’s work spans strategy and growth, customer value and experience, and marketing transformation.
Its positioning, strategic marketing for the longrun, captures both the philosophy behind the consultancy and a personal connection for Boneham.
“The longrun is about making the right decisions today with a clear view of what you’re trying to build over time,” said Boneham.
The personal connection comes through sport. Boneham played and coached netball for more than two decades before moving into ultra-running and working with elite athletes, with those experiences influencing the way she approaches marketing and business.
Boneham celebrated the launch of Longrun with a long lunch at Intuition Wine & Kitchen on Friday.
