Gilligan Group hires Kerry McCurdy as General Manager

Perth-based PR and digital agency Gilligan Group has welcomed Kerry McCurdy as General Manager, expanding the company’s service portfolio to include a new range of business transformation and advisory offerings.

McCurdy brings more than 20 years’ experience in continuous improvement, product development and compliance management to the business, having worked with large public and privately-owned businesses including Thomson Reuters, Toll, Wesfarmers and Frontier Software.

Gilligan Group Founder and Managing Director, Skye Gilligan said: “We’re excited to welcome a General Manager of Kerry’s calibre to our growing agency.” The addition of Kerry to the Gilligan Group team broadens the agency’s capabilities to include business process mapping, workplace strategy and digital transformation services, complementing the established success of existing digital strategy, corporate communications, investor relations and branding solutions.

“I saw a lot of parallels in her experience that could help many of our clients, especially those in the industrial and mining space with processes and systems that have not kept up with digitisation,” said Gilligan. “It’s exciting to be able to bring these transformation services in because we’re meeting a real need. As marketing strategists we are in the unique position of seeing deep into how a business operates, and many of our clients are tackling the challenges of operating in a digital space for the first time or adapting existing business models to new markets.”

Early transformation success stories have included a process overhaul for Malaga based fabrication specialist Western Metalworx, a key provider to the WA mining industry. McCurdy and Gilligan Group oversaw the digitisation of job management, digital timesheets and project management software, replacing the office whiteboard with a wall-length monitor which enables tasks to be allocated and managed via touchscreen.

“Having software that’s fully integrated with your systems is fantastic,” says Western Metalworx Managing Director Anthony Chiera. “Having processes broken down to a granular level, with push notifications for each task; the jobs just flow through. It’s organised, it’s systematic, and we’ve cut down on paper usage by 70%.”

Gilligan Group’s capabilities are set to develop even further in the coming months, with investments in new video technology and a growing staff roster helping the organisation keep pace with its clients in Western Australia’s robust mining services sector.
