With the media landscape more fragmented and complex than ever before, Longreach Media and Marketing consultancy has launched to help clients find simple, effective solutions to all their media needs. Founded by two of WA’s most experienced media professionals, Angela Nutton and John Driscoll, Longreach brings together over 60 years of media and marketing experience.

Longreach Media, a division led by Nutton, will offer the full complement of media services expected of a national buying consultancy. However, Nutton said a ‘client first’ philosophy – something she has long believed in and fostered – will truly set Longreach apart.

“Our approach, before even discussing tools and resources, is to build a dedicated team who take pride in their work and are recognised by clients as genuine business partners, said Nutton.

“With the increasing volatility and staff turnover in media departments, I believe offering clients a sense of stability, transparency and honesty is something that’s critically important. And with the proliferation of smaller independent agencies, there are now even greater opportunities for us to work together to provide more seamless solution for clients.”

“Our approach builds on Angela’s impeccable reputation within the industry,” said Driscoll. “But what’s exciting as a new business is the opportunity to define our own staff philosophies from the ground up. Staff who share our vision will also share in the success of Longreach as we grow.”

Media buying firepower will come from a new partnership formed with PHD. This collaboration will afford Longreach access to nationally negotiated media rates, research data, and back-end systems utilised by the biggest media buying group in Australia.

Longreach Consulting is the second arm of the new business. Headed by Driscoll, it will provide a suite of services tailored to the needs of Boards and CEOs seeking to have a better understanding of their media and marketing effectiveness.

Operating independently to the media business, Longreach Consulting is a new concept for the Perth market. But it’s one that Driscoll believes could be of great benefit to Boards and CEOs seeking to understand the media effectiveness of their brand and retail strategies.

“Quite rightfully, Boards are now wanting greater detail in relation to their media budgets, and whether or not they’re being spent in the best possible way” said Driscoll.

Unsurprisingly given his extensive industry background, Driscoll maintains the role of Longreach is not to drive a wedge between agency and clients, but rather find ways to better understand clients’ needs, build trust and ultimately create better business outcomes.
