Channel 9’s Our State On A Plate returns Sunday

With a collection of handpicked gourmet adventures through Western Australia, Our State On A Plate will return to Channel 9 for a sixth series on Sunday, August 22, at 5.30pm.

This six-part series follows WA chef Stuart Laws as he gets under the skin of Western Australia’s tastiest food cultures. He’ll be joined by WA Good Food Guide’s Georgia Moore, sports dietician Julie Meek, world pizza champion Theo Kalogeracos and food journalist Cassandra Charlick, with guest appearances from Fred’s Restaurant Paddington executive chef Danielle Alvarez, Manuka Woodfire Kitchen’s head chef and owner, Kenny McHardy, and executive chef Jed Gerrard.

In each half-hour episode, acclaimed chefs and food specialists will celebrate our local industries as they highlight WA’s primary producers, showcasing food events, amazing eateries, and anywhere food is celebrated and enjoyed. From producer to kitchen, our team of culinary masters will create easy-to-replicate meals to tantalise your tastebuds.

In the premiere episode, Georgia Moore visits the state’s largest wholesale fresh produce market and joins one of Australia’s leading chefs, Danielle Alvarez, who shares a delicious recipe using a product unique to WA. Danielle brings expertise earned at some of California’s most prestigious institutions to the table, sharing her practical procedures and food-loving philosophy.

West Australian chef Stuart Laws revels in his passion for our food industry with a pizza recipe that celebrates two true WA brands. Sports dietitian and performance specialist Julie Meek shares her food inspiration that is a guarantee to improve your overall well-being. And Theo Kalogeracos is on the hunt for WA’s best small bars, visiting eight of the best to say cheers!

Meanwhile, Margaret River-based food and wine writer Cassandra Charlick returns to take viewers to one of the oldest and most awarded family wineries in WA.
