This week saw CBH launch its new corporate website, created on Sitecore 10.1 in WA, by The Brand Agency’s integrated technical, strategy and UX teams. The new corporate website runs as a containerised hosted solution utilising Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
The main objective for the project was to transition the corporate website onto the latest version of Sitecore whilst merging CBH’s corporate and fertiliser businesses onto a single web platform. To do this The Brand Agency’s strategy and UX team worked extensively with CBH stakeholders and customers to understand the business objectives and consumer insights.
“We knew that we needed to combine both sites together in a single information architecture, but this also gave us an opportunity to completely revise the current IA into a far simpler and easier to navigate web solution”, said Matt Popkes, Head of Strategy at The Brand Agency.
In addition to redefining the IA, the CBH and Brand Agency project team were able to completely reimagine the web experience and build out an extensive design system of reusable SXA components and flexible layouts to allow CBH to better manage their content in the future.
“The project commenced in November 2020, as our previous website software had reached its end of life. This presented us with an opportunity to update the current technology, refresh the design to better align with our brand and improve the website content”, said Brianna Peake, Chief External Relations Officer at CBH.
“In conjunction with The Brand Agency, we conducted stakeholder workshops which highlighted areas for improvement. The new website design, infrastructure and functionality encompasses this feedback, and enables us to showcase our co-operative, deliver an improved user experience and make information more accessible for our stakeholders.”
Paul Hamilton, Head of Technology at The Brand Agency said, “The project was a highly collaborative team effort, with an excellent delivery team at CBH and The Brand Agency working in partnership to deliver a great product for CBH to utilise. We are really excited to be running the solution on an AKS environment. We feel the converging of DevOps and hosting infrastructure specialisms is the future of web development and cloud hosting. The cost and performance benefits of containerisation are evident and working with end-to-end deployment pipelines is helping to streamline our development and deployment processes.”
