Beyond zero: Anthologie leads the way as WA’s first carbon neutral creative agency workplace

Strategic design and digital consultancy Anthologie has achieved its longstanding ambition to reach carbon neutral status, going even further by doubling its emissions in offsets.

The announcement is a significant milestone for the business, as it marks the first creative agency in WA to not only reach carbon neutral status, but to go beyond this.

Taking steps to reduce their carbon footprint, Anthologie worked with sustainability partner Carbon Positive Australia to adopt greener habits, including reduction in waste and energy to reduce their emissions. The company has also offset their workplace’s carbon footprint by 75 tonnes CO2e for the last financial year by investing in native revegetation projects across Australia.

After achieving B Corp certification in 2019, Managing Director Amy Sutton said that it was the next step towards being a more accountable business. “Becoming a carbon neutral workplace has long been a goal of ours – it’s important to our people and the clients we serve. We’re so proud to be the first creative company in WA to not only take this vital next step, but to go further and become carbon positive.

“Australians have one of the highest personal carbon footprints in the world. So as an Australian company focussed on creating a positive impact, it was time we walked the walk.”

The achievement follows the recent launch of Carbon Positive Australia’s Carbon Footprint Calculator – progressive web application enabling individuals and households to calculate their emissions.
