AWARD School kicks off 2022 enrolment campaign

AWARD School – Australasia’s most acclaimed course for aspiring creatives – has kicked off its enrolment campaign for 2022.

This year’s focus is on encouraging people from all backgrounds within and outside the ad industry to apply for the 2022 program, with the only criteria being a desire to channel their inner creativity to take their creative ideas to the next level, develop outstanding content, or progress a career in commercial creativity with confidence.

Says Katrina Alvarez-Jarratt, joint national head, AWARD School: “AWARD School draws out the true creative in everyone who goes through the program, and we wanted to quash any self-doubt that often creeps in for aspiring creatives who are looking to apply this year.

“The simple fact is that creativity doesn’t care about your age, gender, career experience or credentials, it just wants to be utilised to help you reach your full potential.”

A series of information sessions for aspiring students will take place throughout February before applications open on February 10. They include an “Ask an Alumni Anything” webinar on February 3, a virtual information night on February 9, and one-on-one creative yarns for Indigenous applicants –  a new addition to the AWARD School Indigenous scholarship program that aims to foster a more diverse pool of AWARD School talent.

Says Matt Chandler, joint national school head: “It’s very exciting to be embarking on a new year of AWARD School which represents another chance to find a fresh crop of brilliant creative minds. They’re needed now more than ever. We’d love everyone in the industry to encourage creatively minded friends or colleagues to apply for this year’s program. It goes without saying that the more diverse a collection of characters we have participating in the course, the more exciting the future of our industry looks.”

This year’s AWARD School programs based in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide will combine pre-recorded and live lectures as well as face-to-face learning as part of weekly tutoring sessions.

AWARD School will also run an online program for students from regional and metro Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia following the same timetable. All elements of the online program, including graduation, will be virtual.

Highlights of AWARD School 2022 will include a commercial creativity brief which recognises the major role creativity plays in entrepreneurship and business, and the Legendary Lesson, one of AWARD School’s most popular initiatives that last year saw globally renowned creative leaders such as GS+P San Francisco co-chairman Jeff Goodby, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne creative chairman James McGrath, and BBH LA ECD Ned McNeilage sit down virtually with AWARD School students to provide constructive feedback on their work.

AWARD School is thrilled to be working with Facebook as its major sponsor in 2022 for the fourth consecutive year.
