Australia @ Cannes Lions 2022: Recap of the first two Awards presentations of the week

After two days of results in Cannes Western Australia’s tally board stands at one finalist in the Radio & Audio Lions, but let’s see how Australia has gone so far.

Howatson+Company has picked up a Silver Lion for Matilda Bay ‘Rejected Ales’, whilst CHEP Network has scored a Bronze Lion for 7-Eleven ‘Coffee Scrub’ in the Cannes Design Lions.

In the Cannes Industry Craft Lions, Howatson+Company has taken home a Bronze Lion for Matilda Bay ‘Rejected Ales’, developed with Heckler Sydney, Work Works and PHD Sydney.

Australia has scored two Gold Lions in the Cannes Entertainment Lions. The Gold Lions were awarded to Host/Havas Sydney for Australian Federal Police ‘Crime Interrupted’ and DDB Sydney for Volkswagen Australia ‘The Ad Break Championship – GTI Hijack’.

Run it Wild has scored a Bronze Lion in the Cannes Entertainment Lions for Sport. The company scored its metal for Tennis Australia ‘Australian Open Metaverse’.

Dentsu Creative Sydney has scored a Bronze Lion for Garvan Institute of Medical Research ‘Disease Dilemmas’ in the Cannes Health & Wellness category.

And a non-award highlight is Andy Flemming’s very funny send up of the 2023 Cannes Metaverse.
