Art Director + Designer, Aleisha Zappia releases childrens’ books just in time for Christmas

Talented Perth Art Director and Designer Aleisha Zappia has turned her considerable visual talents towards a series of beautifully illustrated childrens’ books featuring WA wildlife. Her passion is driven by a desire to protect our unique environment.

Zappia said: “We have an incredible diversity of wildlife, that is unique to WA. Sadly, Australia has lost more mammal species to extinction than any other continent, which is a huge loss for future generations. My goal is to fascinate and inspire children (and their parents) by showing them just a tiny peek of our beautiful and unique wildlife. I hope that they, too, will develop a passion to care for, respect, and understand the need to make a difference in protecting our environment. After all, this is the only home we have, and it is our responsibility to ensure that it remains here for future generations.”

The latest addition to the collection ‘Wanda Out Yonder’ is about a wombat called Wanda traveling through the southwest discovering new places and friends along the way. The interactive story allows children to research places and wildlife as they travel with Wanda.

If Tourism WA needs a new ambassador, Wanda should be on the list.
