Anthologie launches Australian carbon footprint calculator with Carbon Positive Australia
Anthologie have designed and developed a landmark carbon footprint calculator with Carbon Positive Australia. The calculator is uniquely designed for Australian households with results based on Australian emissions factors.
As a certified B Corp, the award-winning strategic design consultancy Anthologie is driven to have a positive impact in all they do. The calculator, developed as a React web application, inspires people to make positive changes to their lifestyle, to reduce and offset their carbon impact.
“Australians have one of the highest personal carbon footprints in the world,” Anthologie managing director Amy Sutton says. “As a purpose-driven design consultancy we see the opportunity to create tools that can shape real-world change.
“The calculator is designed to strike a balance between detail and simplicity, asking participants to enter just enough information to generate meaningful, actionable results. The tool stands ahead of the crowd, intended to be completed in one quick sitting – questions are prepared in such a way as to be answerable on the spot.
“We are proud to be working with Carbon Positive Australia, who have been working to combat climate change through restoration of Australia’s native landscapes projects for over 20 years.”
This achievement represents the first outcome of Anthologie’s soon-to-be-released annual pro- bono program, supporting social enterprises and not-for-profits to bring innovative ideas to life.

With their assistance, and support from Lotterywest, we were able to develop this user-friendly version of Australia’s first carbon calculator,” says Carbon Positive Australia’s CEO Louise Tarrier. “Based on Australian emissions factors, it provides a transparent and accurate carbon calculation for households. This project has the potential to empower us all to make choices that support our unique environment.”
