Their trophy was presented to them tonight during the Lotus Awards Presentation – the final day of ADFEST 2024.

The ADFEST 2024 Young Lotus Workshop has been completed by 36 young creatives, representing 18 cities, including Bangkok, Colombo, Dhaka, Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Mumbai, Seoul, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney, Taipei, Tokyo and for the first time ever, Almaty and Riyadh.

Vinit Suraphongchai, Chairman of ADFEST welcomed all the participants to ADFEST before the start of their two-day workshop. He explained: “Every year, the Young Lotus Workshop proves itself to be the beating heart of ADFEST’s vision. It is a source of learning and inspiration for the next generation of creatives in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. It perfectly demonstrates our desire to give back to our industry and inspire the next generation of creative leaders.”

This year Young Lotus Workshop was hosted for the second time by Ogilvy, under the theme, “Dear Advertising, you used to be funny”, and led by this year’s Young Lotus Chairman, Reed Collins, Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy Asia-Pacific.

“I am so proud that Ogilvy is back hosting the Young Lotus competition for the second year in a row. Supporting the next generation of creative minds that will help drive the industry forward across the region for years to come. It’s gonna be a blast!,” said Collins.

The Young Lotus teams first enjoyed a series of talks and workshops hosted by Ogilvy’s creative, strategy and planning leaders. They were then given a real brief for real client – with just 24 hours to meet the deadline.

Says Young Lotus Workshop Speaker, Julia Hou, Group Executive Creative Director, Ogilvy Beijing and South China Offices:“Through the fun & engaging workshop, it really brings up the importance of participating and contributing in the interaction! Advertising is a fun but serious communication tool that has the power to change the world.”
