ADVANCE YOUR STRATEGIC THINKING WITH ADSCHOOL: New course starting Wednesday, October 21

The AdSchool Advanced Strategic Planning course, endorsed by the Account Planning Group (APG), provides a valuable overview of the entire brand development process and key frameworks, to help course attendees make the best brand-building decisions.

The structure of the course follows the ideal brand development process; from business opportunity to defining an insight, to communications and the measurement of results. It brings to life text-book theory by providing inspiring real-life examples from the experts who are successfully building brands right now.

Course lecturers in Perth are 303MullenLowe’s Head of Planning, John Linton and Strategy Director, Smiljka Dimitrijevic (pictured). They have been working with David Warren – freelance Planning Director at The Monkeys, Sydney – to update the course content to ensure the sessions are highly engaging, thought-provoking and above all, inspiring.

“It’s an honour to be involved in the Advanced Strategic Planning Course,” said Dimitrijevic. “This year we have a more cohesive national approach, and the bulk of the course has been overhauled by David Warren, who was one of the planners behind the standout ‘Come Down for Air’ Tourism Tasmania campaign.”

“I hope that one of the lessons both planners and marketers will take away from this course is a clear process to achieving an effective strategy. And the principles are the same whether you’re working on a business strategy, marketing strategy or a specific communications strategy, the nuance is in the detail”.

Topics included in the course outline are:
• Fundamentals of strategy;
• Defining brands;
• Developing a brand proposition;
• Developing a creative strategy;
• Writing a brief;
• Effectiveness and Measurement.
