Lightning Minds and Hypnosis billboard gives a cheeky nod to the past and a cheers to the future
Non Alcoholic beer Lightning Minds and Hypnosis have unveiled a new billboard on Stirling Highway in Claremont, close to the site of the infamous Club Bay View nightclub. The creative is a throwback to the nickname the club rightfully earned itself – Club Bay Spew.
For many who came of age between 1970s, 80s and 90s the local nightlife was defined by a culture of heavy drinking. These were times where binge drinking was not just common but celebrated, often leading to the streets of Claremont needing a good hose down on Sunday mornings. But as times have changed, so have our attitudes towards alcohol, with a downward trend in consumption. Many are opting for moderation and mindful consumption and more and more are abstaining.
While the billboard might not land with a younger audience it hits the spot for Lightning Minds’ target demo. It reminds them of their decadent days while offering a flavourful solution to dialing back on the booze. Part of an ongoing campaign from Lighting Minds to help people strike a positive balance with alcohol.

Great work from Hypnosis.
PS; I never spewed there.
it was part of a larger campaign with more bespoke executions in various locations where you have some wordplay.
PTSD from this. Nice work.
Clever Perth ad.
I once saw someone make a funnel out of their hands and spew underneath the bar and then stand up and keep ordering.
*pours one out for Clubba*
Love this work! Hypnosis climbing the ranks like the treacherous stairs to “Valhalla” and it’s sticky carpet.
