2020 Oasis Ball cancelled – Campaign Brief WA Awards to be announced online

The 2020 Oasis Ball has been cancelled due to Coronavirus measures in the interests of safeguarding community health.

Oasis Committee Chair, Cindy Henderson, has released this statement today:

Due to the Prime Minister’s announcement on the 15th March 2020 that all non-essential gatherings of 500+ people should not occur, we have cancelled this year’s Oasis Ball 2020.

The event will hopefully occur in March 2021.

If you have been invoiced for tickets but not yet paid, please let me know ASAP. If you have already paid for tickets, you have a few choices:
1. Request a full refund OR
2. Request a partial refund and make a donation to the Salvation Army’s Crossroads West cause for 2020 OR
3. Have the payment held within the Salvation Army master bank account until 2021.

We will hold the ticket price for the event in 2021.

As this event is the key annual fundraiser for the Salvation Army’s Crossroads West program, it is distressing for us to be in this position – however the health and safety of our community is our top priority.

I will be in touch again ASAP regarding Major Auction & Silent Auction items as we are looking at ways to have these auctioned off so that these funds can go to The Salvos for their program this year.

Please feel free to call me on 0417 291 652 if you have any questions regarding the above.

On behalf of the committee, I thank you very much for your support and understanding.

Cancellation of the Oasis Ball notwithstanding, the Campaign Brief WA Awards will still be announced.

Now more than ever, we believe the best work, organisations and leading people in the industry should be acknowledged and celebrated.

All judging has been completed and production of the special Awards edition magazine is well underway.

At this stage, our plan is to announce the winners online via the CBWA Blog on Monday, April 5, followed with distribution of the magazine.

However, there will not be a public presentation given the escalation of restrictions and calls for social distancing. Certificates will be delivered to the winners.
