2020 Emergence Creative Festival postponed

The organisers of the 2020 Emergence Creative Festival have announced the event has been postponed.

Emergence and Creative Corner issued this statement today:

Since our last statement on 12 March, things have radically changed in Australia. As you may have already read, to contain the spread of coronavirus COVID-19, the Australian government has imposed self-isolation requirements for international travellers to Australia and discouraged non-essential public gatherings of more than 500 people.

Under the current climate, we regret that we have to postpone this year’s Festival and Conference. We’re consulting with our stakeholders and speakers and working behind the scenes on elements of the program which can be brought to you between now and the next festival.

The Festival acknowledges the financial strain that rescheduling the event will place on artists, venues, service industry staff, and all our participants in small businesses. However, the health of everyone involved is, and has always been, our topmost priority.

For those who wish to retain their tickets for the new date (once this is set), we thank you for your confidence in us.

We will be in touch with all ticket-holders in the coming days to make arrangements.

We are advocates for the creative industries and hope you’ll join us in supporting all arts workers who will be challenged during this time of uncertainty. Purchase their music, have a meal at a venue, buy some artwork and support your collective creatives.

In the meantime, please stay in touch through the Emergence ASLUMNI Facebook group as we share updates with our attendees, past and future.

We’ll also post an FAQs in our website in the coming days. We appreciate your understanding, patience and support during this evolving situation.
