WAMA cracks open the lid on 2023 with a discussion on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

WAMA is hosting their first brekky for the year on Thursday the 23rd of March, and are tackling the important topics of diversity, equity and inclusion in the marketing industry.

Here’s the rundown from the team on what they’re planning to cover:

“The practice of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is expanding and evolving, and brands are expected to deliver accordingly. So where do we start?

“The topic is vast and complex, and this is the beginning of a collective journey for our marketing community. Our goal is to leave you with an idea of the mindset and knowledge needed for your brand to take on diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as some practical first steps.”

The panel will be led by Tui Raven, Creative Director at Tui Raven and Cultural Advisor, with the following panellists:
Tess Palmyre, Founder at Brandable, DEI Committee Member at WAMA
Choon Tan, Chief Executive Officer at Pride WA
Andrew Fairbairn, President and WA State Director at Physical Disability Australia
Kevin Wilson, Co-Founder of Nani Creative

WAMA Chair, Rene Le Merle, is looking forward to their first breakfast of the year.

He said: “Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is a really important matter for our industry to lean into and we want to help amplify the conversation and improve efforts across all three areas.

“It’s an area we’ve wanted to address since inception, and with our newly appointed DE&I committee member Tess Palmyre on board, we look forward to sharing our own roadmap, in conjunction with the important discussion.”
