The West’s digital news brands dominate in WA with a huge 46 million monthly page views

For the first time, new industry endorsed data has unveiled the significant number of page views The West Australian digital brands receives online from users in WA compared to any other online news brand.

According to the newly released Ipsos iris, IAB endorsed digital ratings currency, The West Australian boasts a remarkable 46 million page views throughout the month of January alone, in WA, across its digital brands.

When taking into account figures nation-wide, The West Australian received a staggering total of 55 million page views and an audience of 3.64 million people in January.

The West digital brands have exceeded the online audience of well-known mastheads such as The Australian, The Daily Telegraph and the Australian Financial Review.

Seven West Media’s General Manager of Digital Transformation, Brent Stewart, said: “We’re excited to see the release of Ipsos iris in market and to once again have a digital audience measurement currency endorsed by the IAB and its Measurement Council.

“With so many new publishers and players in market, it’s timely to have an independent source of truth and comparison for our industry and a Gold Standard that publishers, clients and media agencies can rely on.

“For The West Australian, we are so excited by the ongoing performance of our digital brands, we have so many new and innovative projects pegged for the year ahead, including a new five day a week financial market show called Trading Up as well as a new AFL show, Mad Monday, that will feature Mick Barlow & Xavier Ellis. This March also sees us release our long awaited The Game footy tipping App, which takes WA’s favourite tipping comp to a new level.”
