The Experts Podcast hosts record breaking news anchors Susannah Carr and Rick Ardon

Forty years on the news desk at Seven News Perth isn’t just an incredible achievement, it is a world record. Generations of West Australians have grown up with Susannah Carr and Rick Ardon – it was 1985 when this duo first sat at the news desk together. The latest episode of The Expert’s Podcast is a tribute to them, a chance to get to know who they are, what they like and where they see media going in the future.

“Rick and Sue are like another member of the family for West Australians. They’re highly recognisable, trusted, and respected in the community,” said host of the podcast, Nic Hayes.

The first question to the record-breaking team is “Do you actually like each other?”. Their response is in unison. Rick and Sue talk about the early days and what the future holds. They regale stories with other Seven News icons in Alison Fan and Geof Parry that alone are worth the listen.

The open, honest, and humorous chat really showcases the partnership they have.

The Experts Podcast has recently been host to some fantastic high profile media personalities. You can’t get more legendary than “Golden Tonsils” John Laws, and Nic kicked off last season with arguably the country’s most influential broadcaster – 2GBs Ben Fordham.

“The podcast is perfect for communications and public relations professionals and most importantly business owners who want to engage media. If you have a better understanding of the media you will be able to communicate with them more effectively.” Nic Hayes host of the podcast said.

You can listen to Rick and Sue on The Experts podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
