Western Australia’s own advocacy group for Independent Commercial Communications continues to champion independent locally-owned creative businesses in Western Australia, with the addition of two new members, Studio Orange and Dux Digital.
With these two new additions, IN:WA now represents a total of 16 members, with new memberships gaining traction in the first six months of the year.
John Petkovic, IN:WA board member and membership coordinator, said: “The strong momentum in 2023 comes from ongoing exposure via our popular panel events as well as strong networking and word-of-mouth from our existing members. The arrival of Studio Orange and Dux Digital once again represent the diverse member base that is finding common ground under IN:WA.”
Nanda Gunnink, founder and Managing Director of Studio Orange in Northbridge, said: “We’re excited to join IN:WA as a new member. This is an amazing opportunity for independently owned businesses in WA to work together, support WA’s creative sector and share experiences. The recent event ‘Boom or Bust – Building Business Resilience’ was interesting and provided a range of perspectives for us to reflect on. In addition to the events, I’m also looking forward to connecting with like-minded business owners and leaders. Studio Orange highly values and relies on local talent and a thriving production and animation sector in WA. We feel very aligned with IN:WA’s mission.”
Justin Greenwood, Managing Director of Dux Digital, said: “As firm believers in supporting local talent, Dux is proud to join IN:WA and be amongst a group of other like-minded agencies here in Perth. We’re excited to share ideas and collaborate with other local businesses.”
Looking ahead, IN:WA has set its sights on reaching the momentous 20 member milestone by the close of 2023. With advocacy and community at the heart of the organisation, this milestone will solidify the organisation’s position as a positive force, helping shape the future of independent creative businesses in Western Australia.
As part of IN:WA’s tailored offering to independent creative businesses, a dedicated forum has been established for business owners, executives and senior leaders. The inaugural Owners + Leaders Assembly took place in June at Lawson Flats with a breakfast and discussion hosted by Annie Simpson of Modern People. The second O+LA forum is penciled in for September.
If you’re interested in being part of IN:WA or would like to meet some of the current members, keep an eye out for the next IN:WA panel event to be held in September. More details on our guest speakers will be announced soon.
