Strategy in the spotlight: Tim Woodsmith shares insights at July’s Grill The Marketer event

Last Thursday’s Grill The Marketer event saw over 55 marketing enthusiasts brave the Perth winter chill to grill Rare’s Director of Strategy, Tim Woodsmith.
Woodsmith spoke about re-positioning NRMA from an insurance company, to a help company and the effects that had on the entire business.
He spoke about former client, Qantas and whether they can bounce back in the eyes of the public.
And there were many questions around brand strategy, like how you get buy-in from the business, how do you go about formulating the strategy and what it takes to implement it.
Attendees enjoyed hearing about the Woodsmith’s career path, experience, and recent campaigns and projects.

Representatives from industry groups were in attendance including AMI and ACA and were joined by both client-side and agency marketing leaders, lecturers and researchers.
The event runs bi-monthly and is produced in partnership with the Australian Marketing Institute.
There are special codes for students and early career marketers, and Australian Marketing Institute Emerging Marketers participants. There’s also industry partnership pricing negotiated to benefit ACA & PADC members.
