In today’s second GFK Radio Survey of the year Nova holds #1, Mix 94.5 retains #2 and there were nice increases for 96FM, 92.9 Triple M and 6PR. Stela Media’s Marianne Stelmach, who has over two decades of radio industry experience, takes a closer look at this latest survey.

Something for everyone in today’s Perth Radio ratings Survey 2: Nova retains #1 overall

Overall each station has a good story to tell this Survey.

Nova will be really happy maintaining their #1 position overall and having a massive Cume of 606,000 Total People. SCA’s Mix 94.5 are a strong #2 overall and clear #1 People 40-54. 92.9 Triple M will be happy with their 25-39 increase holding #2 position, and with Breakfast slightly increasing and seeing the station go up slightly overall. 96FM went up in every shift and is now Perth’s #1 station for Men 10+ and #1 People 55-64. 6PR have had their best survey result since Survey 6, 2014 taking the chance with their new line-up. All daytime shares went up and they had increases in the 40+ demographics. 6IX had a big increase in People 65+ and a slight overall increase.

Survey 2, 2021 was conducted by GFK for Commercial Radio Australia from Sunday February 7 to Saturday April 3, 2021. School was back, WA’s State Election took place and many people returned to office work with some continuing to work from home. There was only one short border closure in this time.

Survey 3, 2021 results are due Tuesday June 1.
