Seven West Media drives support for 16 Days in WA campaign
Seven West Media (SWM) has reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to community impact by partnering with the Department of Communities to support the State Government’s 16 Days in WA Stopping Family and Domestic Violence campaign.
SWM partnered with the Department to deliver this year’s launch event, underscoring the increasing value of cross-industry collaboration in supporting one of Western Australia’s most significant social awareness initiatives.
Hosted by 7NEWS Presenter Tim McMillan, the event brought together government, industry and community leaders to elevate the campaign’s message and encourage collective action.
Premier Roger Cook outlined the State Government’s renewed investment in programs aimed at breaking the cycle of domestic violence, while Minister for Child Protection; Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence Hon Jessica Stojkovski MLA reinforced the importance of continued collaboration between government, business and media in shifting attitudes and behaviors.
A keynote address by anti-violence advocate Tarang Chawla provided a compelling call to action, aligning with this year’s campaign focus on the role men and boys can play as champions of respect.
Through its platforms, audience reach and industry partnerships, SWM continues to elevate the campaign’s visibility and drive meaningful behavioral change. Now in its ninth year, 16 Days in WA remains a vital catalyst for education, awareness and prevention across the state.
This year’s launch was supported by major sponsors Bankwest and PLS, along with Alcoa of Australia, BHP, the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia, Rio Tinto and Woodside Energy.
Carat was also involved in the campaign, which included a wrap in The Sunday Times on Sunday – check it out here.
