Seven unveils star-studded WA footy commentary team and live coverage from Optus Stadium

In a first for Western Australian footy fans, Seven Perth is set to deliver comprehensive local AFL coverage like never before. West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers home games played at Optus Stadium, will now feature expert commentary from a dedicated WA-based team, broadcasting live from the ground.

 

Leading the charge is 7NEWS Perth Sports Presenter Ryan Daniels, alongside expert AFL commentator Mark Readings. Together with Adrian Barich and Anna Hay from 7NEWS Perth Sport and sports broadcaster Dani Shuey, they will bring fans unparalleled insights, analysis and in-depth coverage from those who know WA footy best.

Joining them is a lineup of some of the game’s biggest names, including Ben Cousins, Mark LeCras, Daisy Pearce and Shaun McManus. Their combined on-field experience and passion for the game will bring fans closer to the action delivering exciting and authentic coverage on home turf.

Adding to the excitement, each Sunday home game will feature a special pre-game and half-time show, offering exclusive expert analysis, behind -the-scenes stories and highlights from the game’s biggest moments.

Seven Network Head of AFL and Sport Innovation, Gary O’Keeffe, said: “As we embark on a huge season whereby Australian footy fans can finally stream the footy for free on 7plus Sport, we’re ecstatic to also offer our very own commentary feed, tailored specifically to WA audiences.

The WA commentary team will call their first game when the West Coast Eagles play the Gold Coast Suns at Optus Stadium on Sunday, 16 March.
